Cassandra Monique Batie known professionally as Andra Day is an American R&B and soul vocalist songwriter and actress. In addition to receiving a Grammy Award and Golden Globe Award she's also up for nomination for an Academy Award. Andra Days is an impressive performer who writes beautifully. Not only is she a master of throwback R&B, her musical roots are blues and gospel jazz. The debut of her album Cheers to The Autumn (2015) she broke in to the Top Ten R&B/hip hop charts and was awarded a couple of Grammy acknowledgements. In 2017, her work on Marshall's score was acknowledged with an Academy Award. Her first appearance was on TV programs like Orange Is the New Black or Blue Bloods, before debuting in horror movies Halloween as well as sequels.
